These are the main issues the world is facing...
- What is Climate Change? Our planet is surrounded by a blanket of gases which keeps the surface of the earth warm and able to sustain life. This blanket is getting thicker, trapping in heat as we release greenhouse gases by burning fossil fuels for energy.By trapping more of the sun’s heat the earth’s temperature is starting to rise. This is known as Climate Change.

What is a bushfire? A bushfire is a fire that burns in grass, bush or woodland and can ruin life, property and the environment. Bushfires are also fires which occur in the bush, usually native bushland, which quickly spread out of control. Most bushfires happen in times when temperatures are high or that there is a lightning, bushfires often start when dry winds blow inland from Central Australia.
What is a drought? A drought happens when there no rain for a long period of time. In a drought plants do not grow properly. As streams and rivers dry up plants and animals die. Because farm crops and animals die due to the lack of water, there is less food for people to eat, and what food there costs more. If a drought lasts a long time, people may also die of starvation and the land may become a desert.
What is an earthquake? Earthquakes are the shaking, rumble or sudden shock on the earth’s surface. Deep beneath Earth's surface are tectonic plates. Tectonic plates are constantly moving at a slow rate and occasionally these tectonic plates slide past each other and two rough points make contact, which causes a sudden outburst of energy making the ground rumble.
What is a flood? Flooding is when the water level in a creek, river, lake or the sea rises and covers land that is usually dry. A flood occurs when Antarctica’s ice melts because of the climate change and the hot weather as a result the ocean overflows onto land and this is called a flood.
What is a tornado? A tornado is a powerful rotating column of wind, they are usually caused by a violent thunderstorm. Tornadoes are formed when cold air is stuck between a layer of hot air and they are mixed together and the air creates an unstable atmosphere.
What is Conservation?
This is when Species of different animals is extinct, many species being endangered (threaten with a danger), coral bleaching (to make lighter in colour).
What is Ozone Depletion?
Sulfer dioxide and carbon monoxide releases into the air this is called Ozone Depletion, this can cause many human and animal health problems and can damage our plants and can even damage the world
What is Hazardous Waste?
Hazardous Waste is a liquid and a solid that contains paint gasoline, bleach, cleaning agents, drain cleaners and solvents.
These chemicals can harm and put risks on humans, plants, animals and the environment.
What is water polltuion?
Water pollution is a growing problem globally, large industries including those that make chemicals and plastic dump a large
amount of waste out to the water. Human waste and rubbish also ends up in the oceans and sea.
